Before we walk down the aisle

With that special person in our world

With that angel in our dream

Just like the wonders in a fairy tale

Appearing true in our reality

And casting a shadow of curiosity

With a touch of anxiety even

We should be ready to do a forever journey

And not just an adventure.

Before we say I do to the one that makes our heart skip

And the spark that light that passion in our eyes

We should know that it is death do us apart

And not when passion fails or trials lurks.

When we promised for better for worse…

It is not about seeing the negative shades of life

But bearing in mind that life is not all positive shades.

And when we kissed in front of them all…

Our loved ones, our witnesses

Kiss not stolen, kiss not hidden

But done courageously amidst eager spectators and eager cameras

We are promising endless fidelity and infinite love.

True love that runs pure like the river flowing to Havilah, the land of gold.

Is this not a wonder?

Leaving me just to ponder…

Articles by the writer:

That a stranger turned special in a game called love

That an unknown turned my own in a flame of passion

And now a knot is about to be tied.

Many times I hear people say

When you choose your companion for life

You choose a prison mate till death

How true is this?

My curiosity was quenched when I saw her travelling to the West to live with her husband having lived her single life in the East.

My anxiety was appeased when I heard he will be settling down with his wife in the North having lived his single life in the South.

Marriage is not just a journey

There is more to that…a greater task.

It is a sacrifice both parties must perform

A ritual to the future, yet unknown.

Which is lived on hope and with love.

After the wedding and the reception is over…

After the fun and the honeymoon is ending…

Opens yet another phrase of life

To be walked into by the lovebirds.

It takes just patience and understanding

To turn this journey into an adventure.

Now I know why Mr. Harry walked his wife down the aisle thrice his lifetime.

Verily he said…

“Marriage is a journey to the wonderland by two wonderful people”.
