Gradually, I’m losing my strength…

Behind the smile,

Is a grieving soul,

A battling mind,

Emotions all bottled up,

Waiting to explode like a bomb,

Once the right shoulder is close to support.

I will escape to a far away land where no one will find me,

And live a simple life without pressure,

I will bask in the happiness of a peaceful tomorrow,

Don’t you know, Terry!

That life is to live but once.

Behind the strict appearance,

Is a just a feeble girl.

To sob uncontrollably,

Each day appears like a nightmare,

And the uncertainty of the future gnaw at me like a monster,

“Be optimistic”, my heart said to me,

But It is all an illusion now…

Because my body is weak.

I will tell you why I prefer to walk in the rain all alone,

Why I prefer to walk in the rain while my umbrella  lay in my bag,

Because it affords me the freedom to cry away my pain,

Yes, it gives me the peace to cry freely while walking home,

And I have learnt not to be ashamed of my tears,

I turned to wave at friends but none of them knew that I was crying,

Life is truly harsh.

Behind the pretty face,

Is a weeping heart,

And a troubled soul,

Waiting for the break of a new dawn.
