CRISIS

How Crisis Is Defining The Existentiality Of The Modern Time

The society is getting nastier every single day with the happenings around the world, and crisis has been the fulcrum of the existentiality of the modern time. Humanity has been saddled with myriads of problems to deal with, often times most of these pressing issues are self-inflicted and it is ravaging the whole thing. The issue of power struggle and who makes the major decisions around the world has left many with emptiness in discovery the reason for their being and the whole situation is in deep crisis detecting the outcome of every human life, while the aristocrats dine and shake hands, the poor masses are filled with emptiness.

The war in Ukraine inspired by the Russian president, Putin, which was originally termed special military operation, in protecting the existentiality of the Russian. Nearly three months into war, on what is now clearly between Russian and NATO led member states, who are waging war with Russia in the disguise of Ukraine. The effect of the war is taking a huge dig to every country who are neutral before the invasion of Ukraine in Europe, fearing the same outcome could befall them if they fail to identify with relevant determinant, that’s why Sweden and Finland, have proposed to have NATO membership.

The effect of human resources and the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine is now a disturbing issue, it is the havoc of the modern time, to have people leave their homes on course of freeing war in this recent time, is a course to worry about. The war could be far from over while the maim continue, and the numbers of refugee around the world keep soaring high, crisis is put in front of the people to determine any outcome and it is the new dialogue everyone understands now. It is far from over to start making plans for revival, rebuilding and reconstruction, what has been damaged is enormous, Ukraine has been reduced to ashes, it is going to be long years thinking about the effect of this war, it will go down in the history.

It is no argument to say that Africa is the epicentre of crisis, everywhere is flaming and burning, and not even animals can survive the horror, it has left no place for the vulnerable, it feels like Africa has always been at war time. It is really a crucial moment in going forward and to determine all the factors in which humanity has laid the foundation of modern existence in crisis. Ethiopia and Tigray, have been battling over the crisis in northernmost part of the country, and it is now abandoned area by United Nations, humanitarian aids could barely reach to war zones where hunger is now the order of the day, that’s why UN chief Tedros Adhanom, criticized the preferential treatment Ukraine is getting as opposed to the situation in Tigray, and the issue of whether race is sole determinant of aids during crisis. Although the war has been halted for rebuild, the experience will always hunt and traumatized the affected.

Terrorism, secession and militia has been the predominant problem in Africa, and the leaders are far from cushioning the effect of these plagues that have befallen Africa. Boko Haram in Nigeria, which became notorious over the adoption of Chibok school girls, Borno State, in 2014 enforcing the ideas and tenets of Islam under the view that western education is evil, since then they have grown stronger and carried out series of attacks even when the Nigerian government claimed that they have strategically defeated the terrorist sect, they have stronghold in the northeast part of the country.

The calls from secessionist groups are growing rapidly in Africa, whether the continent could get better to allow any group that feel, that they no longer belong to have a country of their own, as opposed to crisis and provide long lasting serenity in Africa. Although, it is arguably whether such stance has been considered every government in Africa is eager to clampdown any group who pose treat to unity of such nation, despite not addressing the root cause for agitation, and it becomes crisis destroying livelihood to the peaceful existence of humanity. This diversification has grown more since the murder of a student in Nigeria, who they have alleged insulted Prophet Mohammed by Islamic extremists and religious bigots, this is how unsafe the society grown into.

The Middle-East never left out when you talk about crisis, Yemen according to UN, is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world and millions of people are not only suffering from the effect of the crisis but also hunger has taken a big blow in aiding the crisis. The murder of Al Jazeera journalist, Abu Akleh has sparked up long lasting feuds between Israel and Palestine, who people described as the voice of the war whom Israel was ready to silence. In the Far-East, coronavirus pandemic resurfaced and have forced China into a lockdown, fearing the economy on the wake of global crisis.

In all the effect of all these and recovery time is in a thin line, the shortage of food has started to prevail and countries fear to export their food products to curtail the shortages at home. The novelty word is crisis, and the world is heading towards hellish direction, it is propelled by the faction’s bloc to rule over another, exercise dominance and set the tone for everyone. The modern existentiality of humanity has been laid on crisis, and the outcome will have its say on the future as the growing crisis is far from over.
