The situation has continued to take a deep toll on young Nigerians, who have set themselves and sought to be established within the country, and also in life, in terms of looking into the future and the present, and hope for revival is very dim, if not, nothing at all. It spreads and affects not only professional works, but also vocational works. The chance for leaders of tomorrow is getting blurry on daily basis, not only the system of the economy has destroyed their businesses, it left many businesses with no hope of survival, it is an economicide for young Nigerians.
The rate of unemployment keep adding figures, young Nigerians could rarely dream, they have been pushed to the extreme. While many resort to manual work and learning craft to survive, those who are opportune to go to university struggle to cope with the pressure occasioned by the university authorities; high tuition fees, high prices of textbooks, poor condition of learning, lack of basic necessities that facilitates learning and widespread of sexual scandals amongst students and lecturers which continue to ravage Nigerian universities. The traditional idea of going to university was to propel young people to be aware of their society and be ready to be critical thinker and problem solvers, has gone into extinction.
The labour market has continued to suffer, the high prices of groceries and huge demand to keep it up with daily household expenses, seem almost impossible and as such families have lowered their spending to match up with the current economic realities, also forced to change schools for their kids, to work with their budgets. All these are what young Nigerians are going to inherit, the economicide has put the country in perpetual stagnancy, with dim hope. Nigerians have been dehumanized economically, cries from all the nooks and crannies of the country continue to be the order of the day.
