Africa is still in the dark far from competing with other climes, but it has been largely down to piloting the affair of the continent, politicians have been the major actors keeping the people in the dark, they could barely access basic amenities, which are very fundamental to life but these things are not within the reach of people in Africa. Politics and governance detect the daily affairs of the people, popular engagement will give people the willpower to make their opinion known and change the status quo, the wave of coups in Africa in the previous year has slowed down the development in Africa and citizens are left with dim future.
Last year US-Africa summit was held to strengthen their influence but primarily to deter the wave of influence coming from China and Russia. Africa is in the better position to be observer to the war going in Europe, despite the internal crisis destroying livelihood not to talk about self-inflicted war in Tigray. It is time more voices come together in unity to assert Africa position globally, but these traits among African leaders that make them totally undemocratic in handling the affairs of their countries and their total intolerance towards opposition. Africa need to get it better internally, there are a lot self-inflicted crisis slowing the development and insatiable gluttony of calibre of leaders in Africa.

Citizens need to stand for their future to enthrone government of the people, a type of government that runs through the people, there is big bridge between the leaders and the people. There is no connections and interactions, African people largely feel alienated from their own leaders through unwholesome practices that are in place to mar every development that will benefit ordinary citizens. It is a wakeup call for African people, the system is not working because of leaders who prefer to trade interest of his people for his own personal gains, African should strive on and stand for credibility to give the continent a new status, a lot of young people with talents are perishing with their ideas and innovations, because the leaders are never in support of giving Africa new representation but to keep the system that has enslaved African people, for African citizens, Africa is yours to take make it count.
