EPISODE 8

“Ijeoma, you got to be strong, okay? Ekene said as she held her friend closely so that she could rest her head on her shoulder.
“I’m tired of disappointments in relationship”, Ijeoma said sobbing.
“No one is talking about disappointments here again Ijeoma, this is the final test. I think you should call Collins and tell him about this.
“Eeh! do you want me to die! she clearly warned me to avoid her son and family. If not for anything, for the sake of my mother.”
“You have to tell him Ijeoma, this man has been good to you and your mother. At least, you’re back to school because of him. He is not even asking anything in return for it, he just want something serious with you.”
“His mother gave me twenty million to stay away from him”, Ijeoma said.
“And so? please, don’t sound foolish my dear friend. What is twenty million compared to a better life and I am sure that Collins will give you the peace that you need. You deserve him Ijeoma, so fight for what you want.”
Just then, Ijeoma phone started ringing and it was Collins calling.
The two friends look at each other while Ijeoma hesitated.
“You better pick up the call Ijeoma because I’m going back today”, Ekene warned.

“Ijeoma place the phone to her ear and began to speak.

Mrs. Beauty Maduka was watching her favourite show in the sitting room, when Collins burst into the house in annoyance.
“Mom! did you went to Ijeoma’s school?
“Yes I did “, she answered, chewing an apple in an annoying way.
“With due respect Mom, I want you to steer off that girl. I have made my choice and it is either you accept it or forget about it. How could you go and threaten her in school? What

“Ooh, You’re shouting at your own mother because of a pig!. It is over my dead body that I will see you with that smelly ape”, Beauty thundered.
“Seriously, I don’t need your approval to make my choice, Mom. You never cared for me ever since I was a kid, you dumped me to a nanny after birth because of your own selfish interests. You were worst than her before father picked you up and cleaned you.”
“That was in the past, Son. The world has upgraded, you need a better woman. More exposed, more educated, can’t you see it?
“If you come closer again Mom, I will leave this country with her and I am assuring you, you will never find me mark my words”, Collins said with a note of finality before storming out of the house.

“Come back here, Son!. She reported me, the audacity!”, Beauty thundered.

“He never liked me Ma, when he came to the house for my father’s birthday. He greeted me casually. Every attempt to initiate him in an intimate conversation proved abortive”, the sweet voice of Shantel rings out from the other end of the phone.
“I think he do, Shantel. You have to be patient with him or don’t you want to be part of my family. Being married to my son comes with a lot of benefits, you will get insured for life. Affluence, great opportunities and many other luxuries. You have all it takes to be the wife of Collins Ifesinachi Maduka, the only heir to Gilbert Maduka dynasty. You know too well my dear”, Beauty answered from the other end of the phone.
“I know too well, Ma but at the same time I don’t want to waste my precious time. I met him yesterday at the Spa with another lady and they were all lovey-dovey. At this point, I am tired”, Shantel said and hung up.
Her two friends burst into laughter.
“Shantel, why are you giving up so soon? Fiona asked, laughing.
“If anyone had told me that Collins Maduka will not fall for my looks, I will curse that person. Can you imagine! With all my curves and beauty. Fiona you know well the attention I always draw to my self each time I step out in my full regalia”.
“Forget about him Shantel, Jackson is in the picture now”, Fiona answered.
“Aah, you cannot compare Jackson to Collins, Collins is rich. I mean he is wealthy and good-looking, and has good manners too”, Eva said looking at Shantel.
“I know Eva, but I have to accept the fact that Collins is not for me. Is not that I liked him though, I’m just interested in his money. Collins is too soft for me”, Shantel said smiling.
“Ooh, you’re a bad girl Shantel, Eva exclaimed.
“So how was the girl you met him with? Fiona asked.
“Hmmm, she is quite pretty but looking innocent and soft like him. I hate people with low vibes, I mean how will I flow with them? Shantel said.
“Are you feeling jealous already? Eva asked.
“Of course not! she interjected.
