Why We Should Boycott Xenophobic Attack

The widespread of killing in South Africa which have caused uproar in the continent and to the world, some countries have severed ties with South Africa to show and condemn the act they do against other African citizens who live in their country, especially Nigerian.

FEAR?

They have feel so insecure in their own country, South Africans believe that, Nigerians have taken the most sensitive jobs in their country, while the aborigins are unemployed, so due to this cause, they feared that, they are becoming less important in their country, and may be one day this set of people, might increase in a high multitude and start contesting relevant posts in their political system, with this they feared they will lost it all to foreigners, and when such things happened, they will find it difficult to reintegrate themselves.

They have accused Nigerians of showing bad image to the country, with the high rate of drug crimes and other illegal businesses, so they believed by this measure they can reach through their aim.

WIDESPREAD OF KILLINGS

With the chaos in the country people find it difficult to go about their businesses peacefully, people are being chased in the street hunt down and killed, wasting people’s lives, setting their businesses ablaze and rendering them homeless. Some are looking for possible means to escape the ordeal while the government are yet to make any crucial statement concerning the situation.

Getting rid of people that are going about their businesses peacefully is something beyond the measure, it is unbecoming for citizens to take law into their own hands and act on the absence of law, human lives are precious to be wasted.

EYE FOR AN EYE

This have caused a great retaliation as property owned by South Africans in Nigeria are being set to attack, to avenge the ill treatment they have faced in their hands in South Africa, they promise to render any business linking to South Africa owned incapacitated as they are the consumers of those products, and embrace home owned. This is never a long lasting solution, retaliation will escalate the conflicts and they will have many victims at the cause.

HISTORY BETWEEN NIGERIA AND SOUTH AFRICA

History have shown how Nigeria and some other African countries champion apartheid regime with the aim of eradicating it at all costs. Helping South Africa to dismantle White oppressors who have become nonchalant to leave their country, and threatening more to subdue them, and take over the political administration of their country which lasted for long time. Nigeria championed the cause, and showed that Africa are the center piece of their foreign policy, when Nelson Mandela was released from prison, he went to Nigeria to say thank you, for what they have done for him, if South Africa are not too clinical to forget this history, they should bury their heads in shame, it is a way of being ungrateful. It is an act with should be condemn and impose sanction on them, and they need to boycott xenophobic attack.
