The sudden breakaway of European big clubs caused an uproar in the world of football, fan perceived it as a certain kind of foul play which has gone out of the sweetness of the game. European Super League, was primary idea of Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez and others who keep on prioritizing it, regardless of fans disapproval they are hellbent to defend their actions.
It was such a tempting offer when the idea of ESL was conceived, a lucrative offer which prompt European big clubs to transfer allegiance to the novel league. Average clubs took a different ground, they viewed it as betrayal and utterly display of bonfire of greed and gluttony. The speculations surrounding ESL has made it difficult to see it come to effect, but the pioneers are yet to give valedictory speech in respect of the league.
It was not good news to UEFA; it feels like a sudden coup to dissolve and oust jurisdiction of UEFA. And they couldn’t sleep over this issue without putting many things in the right order. They imposed sanctions on players who chose to represent their various clubs in ESL, thereby making any chance of the league surviving very slim, players were urged to boycott and go against the notion.

This raised eyebrows as the relationship between club owners and fans, which somewhat demand a certain kind of interaction to get the point. Clubs might be leaning on the idea of keep funding the club and keep the club aloft having suffered a great financial lost due to outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, which sees clubs play on empty stadia, and other financial aspect they have to deal with. Fans have been protesting, protecting their status to the game, demanding they respect their opinions when it comes to such crucial decision making. There is no doubt that UEFA will be very vigilant to fashion out new rule to prevent such event from reoccurring, it might demand them stepping up especially in the financial aspect of the game, to help these clubs recover from Covid-19 setbacks
