pens and imaginations
My name is Onoh Chidera.
I joined instagram as chidera__esther in 2017 after my secondary school graduation. I started posting only my pictures there. Then during a challenge on IG, I decided to explore and try out acting a comedy video and I won it. Won some money from it.
Some people told me it was good and it became clear when my followers increased.
I started posting more comedy videos there (about 3 more videos) until I got into depression in 2018 and I decided to take down my IG page because I looked down on it.
In the middle of 2019, I decided to get back on IG as pens_and_imaginations with a different perspective. I started writing stories to suit how depressed I was. Then I started photography; posting nature pictures and all.
Then i started posting my drawings too. pens_and_imaginations suited for the kind of art I kept there. I had at least, a hundred followers there. Then during the lockdown, I decided to go back into comedy and give it a try. That was when some of my friends started discovering my new page.
I decided to come out of hiding and actually do what I liked doing without caring about people’s opinions. It got better and better and more followers and more support.
I always thought of joining Youtube, even though I dismissed the thought because I assumed I needed a big amount of money to start and YouTube was just for celebrities.
One day I was with my friend Kohkoh Ene (on Youtube too). She showed me one of her favorite Youtubers and encouraged us to join Youtube. I took it as a joke but kept it at the back of my mind.
So I decided to open up a Youtube channel in April/may (I think) as a reminder that I had something to do there. Few days ago i posted my Youtube introduction video which now has over a hundred views. I’m so excited that everything is gradually falling into place.
A lot of people ask me if my med school is going to affect my videos, or if my videos will affect my med school, and my answer would always be no.
I believe something that started up as a passion cannot just die off. Both my med school, and the videos, art e.t.c started up as a passion. People normally use the term “all rounder” for me because I tend to know how to do everything.
It’s always funny to hear that though.
I want to take my Youtube channel to the greatest level I could ever reach. I intend to make the world smile, laugh, stay motivated and stay happy through my videos, and of course, my infectious smile…
I plan on creating a lot of funny videos, comedies, fun games, fun interviews, story times, and a lot more!!
Where do I see myself in the next few years in Youtube; I see myself into expanded form of entertainment.
What people don’t know about me is that I think a lot about making a movie.
I actually love writing stories .I’m sure I’ve written about six (6) unpublished stories (at least four in secondary school).
So with my wide range of imaginative capacity, and an improved shooting and editing skill, I believe I can make a movie one day. A great movie.
My greatest fantasy right now is for a movie I produced/directed to feature on Netflix or cinema, any other wide range TV.
It would be a dream come true for me, besides being a gynecologist.
