Africa, the second most populated continent have struggled to be sophisticated since era of colonization, which have proven the incapacitation of their leaders, unable to deliver since such a long period of time, and Africa’s health system is one of the victims of their corruption.
Since outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, which have claimed lives of thousands of people, and cases running into millions, some measures are in place to combat the spread of the pandemic.
Something ridiculous do happen more often, some countries in Africa still doubt if coronavirus is real or just a mere sham, they often put it down to power struggle between China and US, on who takes over the affairs of the world.
Not only in Africa, coronavirus exposed underperforming government, health system is not something you play with, it requires utmost care and great management with the right personnels who over see the affairs of the system.
In Africa people come in contact, live as something never happened, there concerns were the effects of coronavirus pandemic on economy, how it has halted some productions and carriage of goods from one country to another. Another effect is wearing of face mask, this is the only measure that doesn’t look like compulsion, people observe it willingly, other than that in Africa people see other measures weird and out of compulsion.
Africa’s health system have not been really a good one, but coronavirus pandemic exposed it covetly, there is absolutely nothing to hide, it was painted as it is, the health system is more or less putting lives in danger, looking at, it lacks all the attributes of good health system.
You aren’t surprised why African leaders seek medical attention in Europe or the best hospital in the world, normally leaders set the example at home, but in Africa you see something like on headlines ‘Medical trip to China’, ‘Medical Check up in UK’, all these exposed them indirectly looking how miserable they are as leaders, you can’t build something you are going lay on comfortable, you develop other places while your home is deserted.
In Africa, the public make no heed to figures, because no good hospitals to test those who they claim they have contracted the virus, no isolation centres, had it been the money those politicians invested on building hotels and acquiring assets abroad, were actually invested in Africa’s health system, Africa had been proud to have the best hospitals and producing best medical practitioners, not half-baked medical doctors that are endangering lives of the poor masses.
In Nigeria where private individuals donated money to fight coronavirus pandemic, when it is time to account for it, and put it into work, as usual the money were siphoned, you see how irresponsible government officials are, they stooped so slow, they no longer ashamed, it has become norms.
Rural areas lack clean water to keep engine and distance the virus. You think of giving soaps and hand sanitizer to rural areas to keep them at arms length with coronavirus pandemic, it is unfortunate those rural areas lack clean water to drink to talk more of washing their hands, it is absurd, it is like building roads and bridges while the poor masses need education, to enlighten themselves.
Now boarders are closed internationally, due to the pandemic, they are caught up with karma, it is exactly like that, the things you runaway from will one day come to your face and will refuse to leave, unless you do the right thing, at that point it might be too late to do anything, you’re responsible for your actions, it won’t only affect the poor masses as they thought it were, it will be everyone inclusive.
Citizenry see it as they have been scammed, not even the palliatives were given to them. Africa’s health system lack proper hygiene, for years there have been an annual budget, and you look at the health system, it is worst than disaster.
