Mmeso Inspires: Unbelievable

Uncle will never hesitate to spank the kids,

Particularly, little Josh,

Today, he hit a ball on his window,

Yesterday, he destroyed his padlock,

Uncle even predicts what Josh will do the next day,

So soon, his aversion for the little boy became so glaring,

That everyone began to wonder…

Little Josh live in the neighbourhood with his Aunt,

Life has not been fair to him either,

His Aunt treats him badly,

He find succor playing with other kids in the neighbourhood,

Hence, Uncle has been a thorn on his flesh,

Notwithstanding,

He is always high-spirited.

And we all noticed, one fateful day,

That Uncle, stopped Josh from hugging him “welcome”,

Just like other kids did,

He said Josh was looking dirty and will stain his cloth,

We will never cease to wonder if Uncle will not wash the dirty cloth after a long day at work,

Josh sat, brooding all day,

I knew Uncle’s rebuke, get to him.

Two days later,

A beautiful lady entered the compound looking for Josh,

Uncle was washing when she entered,

His soap fell off his hand when he beheld her,

The lady in turn was stunned.

Josh ran to embrace the lady shouting “Mother” as tears of joy streamed down his cheeks,

Their reaction drew our attention,

So, we stood akimbo watching as drama unfolds.

“Who is he to you? Uncle asked pointing at Josh as he held tightly to his mother.

“Our son”, the lady answered as tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Where have you been John?

I went through hell carrying that pregnancy for nine months with a painful labour”.

“Unbelievable”, was all that Uncle could whisper as he look from Josh to the lady.

Unbelievable in deed, Uncle has treated his biological son, badly.

Unbelievable in deed, Josh may not truly see him as a father.

It was unbelievable when the lady turned and walked out of the compound with her son ignoring Uncle’s pleas.

It was Unbelievable when the mysterious lady fought “Aunt” for treating her son like a pauper.

I knew it will be hard for her to believe that Uncle had treated Josh likewise.

I prayed that a day like this will come and it did.
