MMESO INSPIRES

Mmeso Inspires: Too Late

I knew I wanted more than just being friends with him,

How can I open up?

It was difficult, you know…

But I am dying in silence,

Love is a panacea you know…

I need to cure my fever.

I watch him everyday,

Yes, staring stupidly at him as he move from one place to the other,

I might just muster the courage and open up,

I wonder how shocked he will be,

I knew he have no one in his life yet,

I need to fill in that gap,

As soon as possible.

Related stories:

After the evening rehearsal, we stayed back,

Discussing on the latest happening,

From politics to sports, then to education,

We talked about love too,

I fixed my gaze on him,

Asking him questions,

Till he affirmed he is waiting for the right one,

I smiled.

That is all I have been waiting to hear.

Few months later,

We were walking along the road discussing about the day’s presentation,

It was evening and the weather was cool,

As we pass through the lonely path that leads to our various house,

I decided to tell him how I feel,

I watch his expression,

He was smiling,

A right time to strike.

“I have something to tell you”,  I said.

“I’m listening, though I would love to say mine first”, he said giggling.

“Alright, you go first”, I said. My heart pounding.

“Did you remember that girl I told you about”, he asked.

“Sonia?

“Yes. You can’t believe that I am in love with her”, he said.

“No! you can’t love Sonia”, I said.  It’s obvious I was running mad.

“How? Why? He asked in shock.

“Because I’m in love with you”, I said weeping .

“What? he shouted.

Without saying a word. He turned and quietly walk away.

I sat under a fruit tree and wept.
