When I thought of my journey back in Dublin,

Cold shills run down my spine,

The kind of life I was exposed to,

Cleopatra and I always spend the night at Mavis’s,

Dressed in tiny skirts with bright coloured lips,

Hairdo expenses enough to cover for a trip back home,

But I would rather stay and suffer than return to mother’s ranting,

And father’s endless preaching,

Which always hit like a bombshell,

Because I was a prodigal and not yet ready to return to the father.

When I remember the Dude that made me leave home,

I feel like blowing my head off,

Skinny, scrawny looking guy with a poor intonation,

But I was in love with his hairline,

Though he was a dirty guy that squats in a dirty neighborhood,

We had persistently eaten the forbidden fruit,

Three full moon gone, I had not seen my flowers,

I told him my fears, “We might be expecting a child”,

He threw me out of his house in the dead of the night,

That’s how I met Cleopatra,

That’s how I find out that I was not actually pregnant,

But Infact, contracted a Venereal disease.

I never wanted to talk about my first fight with Cleopatra,

It was so bloody that I almost lost an eye,

More painful was the fact that I lost Dawson,

Cleopatra called to tell him all sort of ills about me,

I was not some sort of holy roller, you know…

But Dawson call it quit and walk away,

Grief tore my heart in shreds,

The only man I had truly love,

Natural love prompted not by hairline,

But of goodness of heart and soul,

I may have to pull a fast one on Cleopatra,

But I didn’t,

At least for the moment.

When Johnson came into my life at first,

I thought he was like the rest,

Roaming the Green street  like pests,

But he actually came to stay,

Bringing alongside a big bag of relief.

I told him of my past life,

Starting from the moment I left home,

I never wanted to tell him at first,

But I feared Cleopatra may pull a fast one on me again,

Because I owed her some bucks,

With no plans of paying back.

Johnson was willing to move on with me regardless,

He said to me,

“I love you Bae, let by gone be by gone”,

I thought he was some sort of crazy, you know…

How can I found such a good soul here on earth,

But he was better than I thought,

And from a royal home,

This was so good to be true.

On our wedding day, all I can hear the priest say was…

“You may kiss your bride”,

My Johnson took me in his arms and all I could feel was cold water all over my body,

I jerked up,

I had been dreaming.

Cleopatra had poured me water while yelling at me to get up.

“Oh lover girl, will you sleep there and move your lips or will you get up and pay me my money?

I yawned heavily and sighed.

Another cold day in the street.
