Mmeso Inspires: The Gold Digger

I knew he truly loved me,

But I was not going to feed on love,

I knew he truly cared for me,

But what is caring when wealth is not involved,

I was not going to suffer with him,

Though I come from a humble background,

I want something greener,

Will you call me a gold digger?

I knew I was getting it all wrong,

When I started humiliating him to feel good,

I treated him like a trash because he was helplessly in love with me,

He called at my workplace with lunch pack and I quickly called my friends to make fun of him because his shoes were torn,

He had quietly dropped the food on my table and left,

I could see that tears welled up his eyes,

Yet I was not moved,

Why will I settle for a pauper where Chief Zaza has promised  me assets and vacations all over the world.

I dumped the food in the trash and quickly bought it out to consume when my friends went back to their offices.

Will you call me a gold digger?

Despite the humiliations,

He refused to give up on me,

But I don’t want to suffer at all,

So he was out of the picture.

It is either chief or the dude that lives in Parkview estate,

I frequently call to ask him for money and he always provide it,

Where he always get the money from was the least of my problems,

Though I was surprised because he always seemed to have them handy,

I knew he always sent me his last card to make me happy.

What a poor boy!

Will you call me a gold digger?

The scale fell off my eyes as soon as I thought it to be a dream,

Damian was not a pauper,

He has no torn shoes,

The company where I worked was the least of his companies,

Chief Zaza was one of his employees,

Now I understood why he speak fluently and look neat,

Now I knew why he has always have money to give me,

Those times he was being patience with me acting like a fool,

But here I am the greatest fool of all times,

I wept like a loser,

Sure I am.

Why didn’t I noticed it all along,

I can’t even stand him anymore.

It was too late to beg,

It was too late to change.

It was too late to chase.

I will beg him for forgiveness,

Probably he will accept me.

Besides he loves me,

I need to swim in his wealth and be the queen of his dynasty.

Will you call me a gold digger?
