Mmeso Inspires: Prisoners For Life

Tomorrow, I will be walking down the aisle.

To say “I do”, to the man of my dream.

Yes, to promise eternity to my prison mate.

Seems it sounds weird but it is the truth.

Though it taste like honey, the truth is bitter like gall…

Tomorrow I will be putting on the cloak of matrimony…

Having cast the dress of single hood away.

I will be leaving my family, where peace runs endless

To a place I know not.

Love made me took the first step even though I see the rest of the staircase not.

Surreptitiously stealing glances at my husband to be, a man always on smiles.

Wondering if this look will stay till eternity, or if gradually, it will turn into a frown, sapping the life off my fragile heart.

Lo, this is my prison mate for life.

Tomorrow, I will be saying… “Till death do us apart”.

At regular intervals, I look at the mirror to behold my reflection and to ask my self…

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

Then, I wonder if it is late to turn back.

I remembered the story of a bride who was nowhere to be found on her wedding day only to resurface a week later, after the groom had called it off.

I wonder if Leo will do such a thing even though I disappeared.

Neither ways, I had accepted to embark on this ride with him.

A lifetime ride, a journey.

A month ago, our native marriage was held and here comes our wedding…

Right now, we are prisoners for life.

Tomorrow is my wedding day.

Though I am happy, I am anxious.

Though I am curious, I am uncertain of what the future holds.

Families are happy…

Relatives, well-wishers and friends are gathering.

They want to celebrate…

They want to jubilate.

Because tomorrow will be the special day, then I will be wearing the white apparel.

With my Mr. Right by my side.

Cameramen are all over the place…

Chefs are trooping in and out of the house.

Everyone is getting set.

But no one seems to notice that behind the aura of excitement comes an anxious and curious bride who is not just tying the knot with her Mr. Right but her “Prison mate”.
