Mmeso Inspires: My First Love

Kosi was my first love…

That was twenty five years ago.

I was five, a pudgy pretty little girl but I could explain that feeling…

Mystical and Magical you know,

The anticipation of him coming to our house with his mother fortnightly.

He hardly smile even as I wave my hand to greet him.

He was just seven but look way older, especially with his clean hair cut.

He only sat at the far end of the compound waiting patiently for his mother to conclude what ever business plans she had with mine.

And I, sitting quietly at the other end of the compound, observing him.

Kosi was my first love…

I remembered vividly the day he called me a “fat pig”, I was deeply hurt that I broke down in tears.

He was scared, when he noticed that I  was crying but he refused to console me even when his mother instructed him to do so.

Though I called him a “stone face”, in retaliation, I stopped eating eggs for breakfast.

Mother wonder why…

And every attempts she made to find out why I stopped taking my favourite delicacies proved abortive.

Kosi was my first love…

I cannot explain exactly why I feel that way towards him.

Probably, because mother “refused to give me a brother”.

But, when I finally had twin brothers, the feeling still linger.

Years later, we relocated to another state and I thought it has ended.

Kosi was my first love…

Though I am now a grown up pretty lady and in a fulfilling relationship with Jordan, sometimes his thoughts engulfed me.

I thought this feeling was no more…

Yes, I thought that Jordan has fill in the gap with no space left,

But I was wrong.

Two weeks ago, I met kosi at the shopping Mall.

Handsome as ever, he was standing beside his car, waiting for a business associate.

When he saw me, he was shocked…

I knew why.

I was not that fat little girl he used to know, but a beautiful curvy lady.

He quickly walked up to me and we engaged in conversation.

We exchanged our contacts before parting ways.

Kosi was my first love…

Does it really matter if Jordan get hurt?

Kosi want me in his life and I am accepting his proposal, because I have always wanted it.

Now tell me, how does it feels or sounds that you are tying the knot with your first love?
