“On a cool monday evening”, she said to me…
Restless I was… but expectant of a bundle of joy
My bags with me, I trudge to the hospital
Having waited for more than due, I was anxious of the outcome.
Yes, I was tensed because I could hear clearly, the pounding of my chest down to my stomach where you lay
But, the saviour was by my side
Though, a strained but peaceful labour, I delivered of a beautiful girl
It was you, my child.
That was two decades ago.
It’s my birthday again…
The familiar chorus, worn out with years
Like the Christmas lyrics, yet renewing.
The attention from pals and strangers gives an aura of distinctiveness
And the incomprehensible feeling that a number is added to the previous years of one’s life, makes it rather inexplicable.
Behind the balloons there is a battle
Behind the wishes there is a wilderness
Behind the gifts there is a gap…
Yes, a gap to be filled or else life remain a gulley
Behind the music there is a mission waiting to be accomplished.

I got to find out why…

A delicate age to be reminded that a woman is like a flower.
Which glows at dawn but fades at dusk…
To choose among the spouses, a decent fine man
And I wonder if that is all we want?
We got to make a start from where we now stand…
As the birthday bell rings, we got to ask ourselves
What Impact have I made in this world?
Because Life is meaningless without purpose
Yes, our birth is a sign that our purpose is needed.
Pursue your dreams!
Celebrate…
Jubilate…
Make merry, because it’s your day
But remember, what you are to offer to the world is greater than whatever you will be offered this day
The world is waiting.
