How People Alter Their Personality For Societal Pressure

The issue of differences have created enough barriers for people to part away on many deciding moments. One’s personality and idiosyncrasy is something very much attached to one, and often it contradicts another’s personality which nurture disunity.

In your community some people are aliens to the norms and settings of the community, because they have not been able to integrate very well to the standard of the society, to be able to do so they have to alter their original personality to accommodate others around them, which makes it difficult to comprehend.

Religion have been a dominant change over the centuries. In Africa, before the emergence of the white man, Africa was totally subjected to their beliefs and tradition, they belief in the things around them and make out good about it, cultural heritage was outstanding and unique.

Until the Europeans came they embraced their culture, with rich heritage. The coming of Europeans changed everything for them, both the negative and positive aspect of their coming, Africans altered their heritage and personality to fit in into white man’s culture and abandoned theirs, due to the high demand of change at the time of instability.

In work places these continue to happen, unemployment in Africa forced many people to do the jobs they didn’t like or have passion for, sometimes it doesn’t end well, the attitude and mentality is dispiriting and unyielding.

In some Europeans-owned companies the issue of race dominant the settings, it is hard for black people to strive in such companies, for them to adapt they have to alter their personality and live within what they want them to do, not what they want for themselves, leaving yourself behind.

Peer influence carry this pressure, as they come from different homes just how their orientations are going to be, to follow the crowd insinuate many things, your personality is on the line, the pressure can push you to do something that’s not within the contents of your character.

Often the society hasn’t created atmosphere for anyone to be what they want to be, it always come with pressure to subdue your personality, to adapt and live within the demands rather by the contents of your being, which altered all the dreams and hopes.

You’re in a society where everyone detects what you should do with your life, the recent Black Lives Matter movement which was inspired by police brutality and racial Injustices, showed that people are tired of putting up with people just to accept that their have faults.

Things change when people press buttons, if you continue to accept what people say about you, all your life another person will be detecting your life for you, until you take drastic measures to get yourself from shackles of uncertainties, without altering your personality.

Who has the right to say what is good? Who has the right to detect what you should do with your life?. Life is a journey that you will account one day, live but don’t trespass in another’s life, that is what made them who they are.
