Coronavirus: Another Neocolonialism

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic which was first reported in China, Wuhan precisely. Have claim lives of many, untimely death of its victims, the dreadful pandemic have put everything unhold until vaccine or drug have been proved to be a cure, few countries who are very sophisticated medically are making progress to find vaccine to distribute it as soon as possible, to stop the sudden uproar caused by the pandemic, could search for the vaccine be another neocolonialism.

Power struggle have been at the center of giants with the quest to become super power over others, currently it seems like vaccine holds the fate of the pandemic, who finds it and who becomes the super power, China and US have been the center of attraction since the outbreak of coronavirus, attacking each other economically, UK who is close ally of US, who have accused by China for breaking Huawei deal due to influence of US, the search for vaccine have been a tough one, with countries pointing fingers on who wants to steal information regarding to the vaccine, now what could the fate of poor countries who could barely curtail the spread of coronavirus pandemic to talk more of being involved in the search for vaccine, are they going to caught between fight of who takes over the world?

It is heading in the direction of neocolonialism, who is the best in the eyes of the world and who has answers to the virus, it is absolutely fight for the best, they could be more collaborations in searching for the vaccine but countries prefer to covert their search, what if there is already vaccine, and some people choose to cause a bit of tension just to be at the helm.

In Africa where the pandemic was not taken seriously like in European countries, it looks like political officials are just imposing the pandemic on people, which they claim is a scam, in Africa there are many stories regarding to the virus, hardly had they have extensive research about the pandemic, which give rise to some doubts.

Cases keep rising, reported deaths and recovery. Economic ties broken, who becomes ally and who is in the blacklist, it is could be modern neocolonialism, when the vaccine is finally tested and approved. The allies have vaccines and non allies don’t, it is just more than a vaccine.

Looking at the direction the world is moving, which revolves around power struggle and who takes over. The power struggle between US and China may cause small countries in term of economic growth, to have to choose their stance when the vaccine is found, and in Africa where numbers make headlines yet you see no good hospitals.

Since outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, the relationship between China and US have gone sour on daily basis, the battle was two faced, either China or US, you have to choose where you belongs, unless you’re very sophisticated to be neutral.

Neocolonialism is nothing new, decades ago developed countries have find their way, to manipulate this idea, when they oversee affairs of underdeveloped countries indirectly, in other help them in return, using it as a leverage to actualize their dreams in the expense of the poor countries, with rich resources.

The two countries have been working behind the scenes to come out victorious, the fight for ego is something that is not taken likely, especially when it is all about keeping your legacy and being on top for so long, then you put all the energy to continue to be relevant, that’s what US is trying to do, even when China are caught between the fight, they are desperate to continue being in the helm.
