I always see him every night,
Before the sweet scent of sleep infiltrate me,
Probably it was a wish,
Maybe an oblivion,
But I could clearly see his face,
His smile was infectious,
He always extend his hands to take mine,
Dressed like a prince from a faraway Kingdom,
Searching for a bride to take to the castle,
Like the great castle of Medusa.

I wish I could push him out of my subconscious mind,
To the full glare of reality,
Why must my heart be countlessly broken,
Why I have a fine gentleman lurking behind,
Maybe, I need the help of a seer,
To cast a spell on him,
I won’t let him slip my fingers.

Momma said he was a spiritual spouse,
And entreated me to fast,
How can I fast,
When I anticipates his visit every night,
To soothe my troubled heart,
When Momma noticed my pranks,
I was taken to a soothsayer,
Where I was mercilessly flogged,
To regain my mind.
That night, he came again,
I showed him the scars of my wound,
And he promised to come for me.

Who can ever believe my story,
When all thought I was going crazy,
My pen pal stopped writing to me,
And pleaded with Momma to take me to a psychiatrist,
Who can ever believe that the man in my dream, was the man next door,
Whose wounded soul searches for true love just like mine,
When we talked for the first time,
He asked me about my scars,
Now,
I don’t want to wake up from this slumber.
