Nigeria’s economic realities continue to bite hard as inflation stayed consistent for number of times and have yet to normalise despite economic policies taken by the Federal Government to cushion the effect. The mental effect of dealing with changes in price every single day leaves Nigerians with no calculated budget. Economic improvements have become major discussion, all round hardship in the country is affecting way of thinking, approach to problem and have reduced so many to begging. While average Nigerians are faced with current economic realities, they can feel the heat and know exactly where it hurts, the political class and high class Nigerians are definitely far away from the realities in terms of buying daily family needs.

The traditional three square meals is no longer obtainable as Nigeria’s economic realities put a big borderline making it difficult for average Nigerians to feed on three square meal. The cost of medicines are way over the roof, Nigerians are not meeting up with their medication because of cost, they choose to eat rather than by medicine, this is common sense because you have money for either choose to buy drugs or buy food, the latter is always easy for them to choose. While cost of products have increased, the quality has also reduced, it is becoming inferior proving to be detrimental to health, for most Nigerians is not about the quality of what they consume but the quantity.

Most Nigerians are struggling to have proper conversation, the complaints are directly at constant increments of different products on daily basis. The hike on fuel is the recent tumult, it is leading an outcry from all the angles of the country for reversal of such policy, Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) is selling above N1000. A sense of hope was sustained when Dangote Refinery announced they are ready to hit the market this month, yet there little or no result as Federal Government pose to determine the market price. Commercial transporters increase transport fare as the increments on pump price shows no recover, not limited to commercial transporters, but also businesses that rely on PMS to power their businesses.

Each bag will be sold to one family, to avoid malicious Act, one of the prerequisites is National Identification Number (NIN) and phone numbers. What Nigerians are impatience, they have had enough of bad governance, they want short term changes and everlasting mechanisms to put stamp on economic independence.

Depression is one of the aftermath of economic crisis, when people cannot afford their daily necessities of life, it is fast way of feeling less of oneself especially when efforts have been out to work, but because of governmental policies, businesses are closing, pushing more people into poverty and society becomes vulnerable for all kinds of vices, it becomes survival of the fittest which is dangerous direction to head to. This Nigeria’s economic realities pose direct attacks to mental and medical wellbeing of Nigerians as they are way off what normal society looks like.
